Technical Description
The POD-B is offered as a standard size with two different cable entry sizes for Cat6A, Cat6 and Cat5e in both UTP and FTP. The POD-B is available in nominal 6 and 4 port versions to match the RapidNet 12, 6 and 4 port presentations. This also follows common work area designs of 2, 3 points to the desk, including shared access trays (2 or 3 desks per Pod). A choice of standard IDC punch-down flat modules or keystones with angled adaptors can be installed to the pod to suit network specifications for either Cat 6 (Class E) or Cat 5e (Class D). For managing the bend radius with Cat 6A presentations it is accepts angled 6C adaptors for use with either Deca10 or GST keystones depending on the requirements of the installation.
The main body of POD-B is matt black. The standard outlets and adaptors will be white giving a high contrast presentation.
The cable access at the rear is available in two sizes housing bundles of up to 6 UTP or FTP cables and supports the use of flexible conduit to help prevent tight bend radii, damage from rough floor surfaces or rubbing as well as keeping the cables tidy.
POD-B has three mounting holes for screws when permanently fixing in position such as to the floor (slab) in grid layouts, and two cable tie points for temporary fixing or when using access baskets; giving a simple means for securing the POD in place under the desk when located in its final position.
The HellermannTyton POD box offers flexibility within a Structured Cabling Network. POD boxes come unloaded as standard and can be used in conjunction with a range of compatible HellermannTyton outlets & accessories.
Available in either 4 or 6 port presentations with the choice of
25mm, 28.5mm or 34mm conduit entry points. All POD variations benefit from the same dimensions 215mm(h) x 51mm(d) x 62mm(w) which allows them to easily pass through standard 127mm raised floor grommets.
Each POD features individual port labeling fields as well as a larger labelling area for the POD itself. POD boxes can be used without conduit, however HellermannTyton always recommends using suitable flexible conduit to help maintain proper cable bend radii and to protect cables from possible damage. Conduit is gripped within the rear entry point of the POD alleviating the need for a compression gland**.
An integral cable tie point inside the POD allows cable bundles to be securely anchored in place further protecting your terminations.
